It sucks being sick just in general but when you mix it with being sick earlier in the month, it sucks more I feel.
I am feeling a lot better now and I have read a book. The one thing I liked about the Christmas holidays this year was that I was able to take a few steps back and relax and not go here or there and have the time to feel and get myself back to health.
I had the energy to read, which was super nice, and the fact that I was able to read one whole book by the end of the year is great. I am happy that I was able to do this, and I am looking forward to the new year where I can read a whole lot more!
These are the thoughts on the book I read this week…
Dinner for Vampires Life on a Cult TV Show (While Also in An Actual Cult!) by Bethany Joy Lenz
I really enjoyed reading this book. It is Bethany's 10-year journey in this religious cult and doing a 9-year run on One Tree Hill. She got out of the religious cult soon after the TV show ended and has been doing other acting and directing since and has a podcast named Drama Queens. The book focuses more on the religious cut that she was in and how it affected her life overall land how they stole over $2,000,000 from her. She was really what was for dinner for these vampires.
I feel like it was something worth reading and I hope that others do as well, especially if you like One Tree Hill.
It is odd that we can’t really define what a cult really is especially in court, but I am sure that now we have a better handling of these types of things so if someone is going through what Bethany Joy Lenz did, we can handle it better or so I would hope so.
I am hoping in the new year I can really focus on reading a lot of good books that I am going to enjoy and that are going to align better with what I want to be reading. It is great that I read a whole bunch of graphic novels, but I think I just want to stick more with fiction books, but we will see what 2025 has for me!
