I didn’t get any books read this week, but I did pick up a few. I picked up….
1. The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
2. Anastasia The Movie Novel
3. The Last Star by Rick Yancey
4. Anastasia by Vladimir Megre
I am happy with what I have picked up and I think that I will be able to read at least one of them for next week as well as getting my fiction book read as well. I do have more time set aside for reading now so I don’t think that it will be too much of an issue to do that because time is the most valuable thing that you have so having more should mean that I should have more time to do the things that I am more passionate about like reading and creating.
I am looking forward to having this time to be able to do that because I am ink-restable you know! If I am staying productive, that is all that matters, and if I am using my time more wisely than I shouldn’t have anything to complain about, right?
I am most happy about getting Anastasia by Vladimir Mergre because I did have this book a while ago but I decided to donate it because I didn’t feel like I was going to read it any time soon or get the other 8 books in the series but this book has made its way back to me by the book store so I just had to pick it up. Yes, it isn’t the same copy of the book that I originally picked up, but it is a copy of the book that I wanted because I did have a lot of donation remorse with that book, to begin with.
I am going to try to read at least one book a week now and to try to not overload myself with having a lot of graphic novels and short stories as well as novellas in my life just so that way I can have content to have content but be more intentional this year with what I am reading and I am going to be listening to more audio-books this year so I can hopefully be getting a lot more books read this year.
I am hoping that this will help me have another successful reading year where I am going to be reading 100 books and not just kind of sort of reading 208 as I did in 2024. There are going to be some weeks when I want to get a lot more books to read or to have a book being read which is fine, but I do have applications like Hoopla and Overdrive where I can get graphic novels, Magna, novellas, and short stories to read from my local library. I am also at the library 3 times a week where I can pick some up as well as volunteering at a used bookstore where I can pick up some as well and then return the next time I am in but I just want to be more intentional with what I am picking up and reading versus just getting 6-12 to read quickly so I can post that many.
Intentional reading is my reading goal for 2025!
