It's Not Summer Without You by Jenny Han
I rather enjoyed listening to the first 2 books in the Summer series and this is what I thought about them.
The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han
This book is so super cute. The story is being told from Belly's (Isabelle's) viewpoint, and this is the summer when she is turning 16. Every year, Belly's family and Suzanne's family (Belly's mother's long-time best friend) come to Suzanne's summer home in Cousins for the summer. This year, Belly's brother leaves early to do some prep college stuff for the fall and is staying with their dad. This summer, Belly really feels like she has actually turned pretty. Conrad and Jeremiah (Suzanne's sons) are around her age, but this is the first year that she is seeing them as the men that they have turned into and not the boys that she has known since childhood. Belly flip flops as to which boy she likes the most be deep down, she has always known that it has been Conrad.
Through some summer loving, do Belly and Conrad make it to next summer?
It's Not Summer Without You by Jenny Han
This is another cute story.Suzanne has passed away and this is the first summer that Belly hasn't spent in Cousins at the beach house.Belly just can't stand not being around Conrad and Jeremiah. Conrad isn't doing well in school, so he takes off, and Jeremiah asks Belly to help him find him. Conrad and Belly are no longer dating, but she still cares about him. Conrad ran off to the summer house in Cousins, and the 3 of them decided to have a last big party due to the boy's dad wanting to sell the house. The only way that their dad is willing to keep the house is for Conrad to pass his summer semester in college. Jeremiah and Belly agree to help and finish off the summer in Cousins like they should. Jeremiah and Belly start to have a budding relationship!
Overall, it has been a fantastic week regarding books, and I can’t wait to continue reading!
Happy reading, everyone and I will see you all next week!
