2 Audiobooks Listened to!

I haven’t read to much this week but I have listened to 2 audiobooks:

  1. Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie

  2. The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion

I have been watning to read Peter Pan for a while now but I was able to find it as a free audiobook so I was happy to listen to it and to finally be in the know with the book.  Due to the book being written in 1908 there are some words that we don’t use today in it so that is something to be aware of if you are going to watch it in the future.

Below is what I thought of each book.

Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie

I thought that the book was really well done.I have seen the movie several different times and I think it was worth the read.It is about a boy named Peter Pan who never wants to grow up and to stay a boy forever. He finds his way in order to do that and he really enjoys his ability to do just that. One day he finds himself in London England and he looses his shadow at the Darlings. When Peter goes to retrieve it he meets Wendy who he befriends and he wants to take on many different adventures. Wendy persuades him to take her brothers with them to Neverland where they all have so many different adventures especially with Peter's fairy Tinkerbell. Wendy, her brothers and 4 of the lost boys end up coming back to London but Wendy does on occasion go back to Neverland to hear of Peter's adventures. Soon enough Wendy does grow old but her daughter Margret takes her place and goes to Neverland and then it is Margret's daughters turn to go and have some adventures of her own!

The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion

This story is about a woman's journey into healing from the sudden loss of her husband and daughter in one year. You find out how and her incredible journey of healing from such great loss.

I do plan on getting more books this week from Book of the Month, I just hope that they come as well as my February selection.

I have stayed true to my word and haven’t picked up any new books or borrowed any from the library which is great.

Happy reading everyone and we will catch on the next blog!
