2 Audio & 2 Books!

This week I have listened to Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll and The Secret Garden by Frances Hodson Burnet and read the Treasury of Illustrated Classics Edition versions of The Secret Garden and A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett. 

This is what I thought about them.

The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett

I read the Treasury of Illustrated Classics Edition and listened to the audio book today, it was 100% worth it at the end of the day.I really do enjoy this story a lot.It is about a young girl by the name of Mary Lennox whose parents die and she is sent to live with her uncle at Misselthwaite Manner. Mary is sent to go play outside where she finds a secret key to a secret garden. She soon finds her secret cousin and they become fast friends. Dixon is Mary's friend as well and the 3 kids take care of the secret garden together.

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

It is really cute and a lot like the movies. The play on words and how they can be taken literally is honestly great.Alice goes between being big and small quite literally and all she wants is to be her right size.

A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett

It is a reread for me. It is worth it.It is about a young girl who had everything, became a servant and then got all her money back plus more and became a princess againSara Crew moves from India to England to get an education. She finds out on her 11th birthday that her father had died.Sara now is a ward of the boarding school she was once a pupil at. Sara, has a good neighbour who starts to take care of her for 'Sara Crew's' sake when their pet comes to Sara's attic room. Sara brings back the pet monkey where she finds out that this nieghbour was a friend of her fathers and was searching for her this whole time to give her back her wealth.This is truly a classic good for me.

Overall, I am satisfied with everything that I have read and listened to this week and I do look forward to reading some more in the near future.  I am hoping to listen to A Little Princess as well as to finish Incidents Around the House by Josh Malerman as well.
